MBC confirmed on June 14 that Park Ju Hyun, Kim Young Dae, and Kim Woo Seok will star in “The Forbidden Marriage,” a new historical rom-com!
“The Forbidden Marriage” is a delightful historical drama about King Yi Heon’s decision to outlaw marriage after losing the crown princess seven years before. One day, con artist So Rang appears in front of the king and claims to be possessed by the ghost of the late crown princess.
Park Ju Hyun, who has previously been in “Extracurricular,” “Mouse,” “Zombie Detective,” and other films, will play matchmaker So Rang, who is actually a con artist. this will debut as her first historical drama.
Kim Young Dae, who has been in “Extraordinary You,” “The Penthouse,” “Sh**ting Stars,” and others, will play Joseon’s king and passionate partner Lee Heon. Kim Young Dae’s gentle and appealing portrayal of the king raises expectations for his willingness to go to any length for the woman he loves.
Kim Woo Seok, best known for his roles in “Voice,” “Rookie Cops,” and “Military Prosecutor Doberman,” will play Lee Shin Won, an Uigeumbu Dosa (member of the judiciary apparatus) and Yeonguijeong’s eldest son (Chief State Councillor). Lee Shin Won is both coldhearted and friendly, and he is charmingly charming despite his casual demeanor, making viewers eager for Kim Woo Seok’s role.
Giriboy is also in talks to make his acting debut in the upcoming drama as Jung Do Seok, the Joseon Dynasty’s version of a webtoon writer. Although Jung Do Seok has created a name for himself as Painter Jung by creating a series of paintings with a story, he currently lives alone in the mountains as a student who has been studying for his Gwageo exams for a long time.
“The Forbidden Marriage” is based on Cheon Ji Hye’s web novel, which has also been adapted into a successful webtoon. The author will pen the scenario for the drama, which will be directed by Park Sang Woo, who previously worked on “My Secret Terrius” and “Never Twice.”
