Son Seok Koo has been the talk of the town ever since his new roles in the K-drama “My Liberation Notes” and the Korean film “The Round-Up.”

He has been able to impress the audience and bring attention to himself by playing a unique role that is not commonly used to attract females. His male admirers are also ecstatic about his action role in his current film, “The Round-Up” which officially reached 3 million moviegoers after its release on May 18, taking less than five days to reach the milestone.

Son Seok Koo is one of the celebrities who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. His family owns a business worth 5.5 billion won per year (GOMT is a manufacturing company specializing in machine tools in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon City) but he decided not to follow in the footsteps of his parents and run the family business. nd of following in his parents’ footsteps and starting a business, he wanted to live a life full of adventure and new experiences. His original intention before pursuing acting as a career was to become a documentary director. In college, he studied filmmaking and graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

He attended middle school in the United States before enlisting for military service in Iraq. Upon his return to the United States, he saved up money to relocate to Canada.

Son Seok Koo returned to Korea after ten years abroad and began to pursue acting seriously. He began by performing in plays in Daejeon. He started working on a resume to send to casting agencies with the assistance of his colleagues. Son Seok Koo made his film debut with “Scarlett Innocence” and the drama “Kidnapping Assemblyman Mr. Clean”.

He gained prominence for his appearance in “D.P,”  “Designated Survivor: 60 days”. His role in “My liberation Notes” as a bar host manager who can beat up people to get what’s due him and as a crime lord in “the Round-Up” makes him the No.1 Korean “tough-guy actor”
