tvN has announced that its upcoming drama “Eve” will be delayed by one week, just days before its scheduled launch.
“Eve” is a new romance-revenge drama about a chaebol’s 2 trillion won ($1.7 billion) divorce lawsuit, which shocks the entire country. Unbeknownst to the general public, the case represents the culmination of a 13-year-long revenge plot. The drama will also include Lee Sang Yeob, Park Byung Eun, and Yoo Sun, in addition to Seo Ye Ji’s return to the small screen.
The makers of “Eve” formally stated on May 20 that the drama would premiere on June 1 instead of May 25, as planned. “Despite the fact that [‘Eve’] is a pre-produced drama, filming was significantly delayed due to different causes such as COVID-19,” they added. “We’re still filming, and because of our tight timeline for things like post-production, we had to push our initial broadcast back a week.”
Due to their tight filming schedule, the drama’s producers also announced that the press conference for “Eve” had been canceled—and that the decision was unrelated to Seo Ye Ji’s previous scandal, as some have suspected.
“We are unable to have a news conference due to our filming schedule,” they explained. “Some have hypothesized that [this decision] was influenced by the pressure of Seo Ye Ji’s homecoming, but this is not the case. It is simply because of our filming schedule that we are unable to hold a press conference.”
“Eve” will now premiere on June 1 at 10:30 p.m. KST.
