Photos from the first script reading of ENA’s next Wednesday–Thursday drama have been released!
In “Icy Cold Romance,” Goo Yeo Reum and Park Jae Hoon, who have been best friends for 20 years, experience a “realistic survival romance.” Following their accidental encounter while working as a production director (PD) and cast member of a reality dating show, the couple starts to have love sentiments for one another. The drama’s script was written by “Heading to the Ground” and “Pegasus Market” author Kim Sol Ji, and it was directed by “Rude Miss Young Ae,” “Let’s Eat” Seasons 2 and 3, and “Drinking Solo” director Choi Gyu Shik.
The cast, which also includes Lee Da Hee, Choi Siwon from Super Junior, Jo Soo Hyang, Park Yeon Woo, Im Ha Ryong, Yang Hee Kyung, Min Jin Woong, Noh Susanna, and Lee Daehwi from AB6IX, exudes incredible emotion and chemistry in the first script reading pictures.
Goo Yeo Reum, played by Lee Da Hee, has been a variety show producer for the past ten years and is in desperate need of both a job and a relationship. Lee Da Hee read the script with sincerely, giving each line her all, and her emotive acting helped to set the mood. Choi Siwon, who plays Park Jae Hoon, co-stars with Lee Da Hee. Park Jae Hoon, a plastic surgeon who receives inconsistent payments, is essentially jobless and has lost his job. Park Jae Hoon, a plastic surgeon who is paid irregularly, is effectively unemployed and has lost interest in both work and love. Choi Siwon portrayed Park Jae Hoon’s aloof yet sweet charms as a traditional male best friend with the proper tone and mannerisms during the reading.
Jo Soo Hyang, who was unable to attend the reading due to personal obligations, plays Goo Yeo Reum’s college friend and colleague variety show PD Kang Chae Ri, who inevitably becomes her adversary. Park Yeon Woo plays the handsome celebrity chef John Jang, who appears as a cast member on Goo Yeo Reum’s reality dating show “Kingdom of Love.” John Jang has a bright and free-spirited attitude that he uses to tease others.
Goo Yong Shik and Yoon Young Hee, played by Im Ha Ryong and Yang Hee Kyung, are Goo Yeo Reum’s dependable and devoted parents. These seasoned actors did not require an introduction and made it possible for everyone to experience the depth of their performance, demonstrating their capacity to serve as the drama’s solid foundation.
Goo Yeo Reum and Park Jae Hoon’s high school buddies who manage a chicken business will be portrayed by Park Dae Shik and Oh Hye Jin. True-life couple Min Jin Woong and Noh Susanna will play married couple. Lee Daehwi from AB6IX will also make an appearance as Kim Sang Woo, a PD assistant and Goo Yeo Reum’s dependable assistant.
